Bringing this poor snake to the vet
Hey everyone! I got this snake from my brother, who unfortunately did not want this snake and didn’t take proper care for him. It’s temps were low and humidity was slightly off. And since I felt so bad once I saw his condition, I will be taking care of him and hopefully getting him back to proper health.
Wasn’t until I held him that I heard a crackle sound. At first I assumed it was because he was shedding but today it is worse and showing other symptoms of respiratory infection. I opened his mouth and I’m not 100% sure but I think I saw bubbles. I was giving him a bath because he was constantly shedding and saw him doing this

So I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow and see what’s wrong but looks to me like my brother didn’t care for it and now I’m working to get him healthy again! This is the first snake I’ve had with a health issue so I don’t know everything about this.

Update!
So it doesn’t have an RI surprisingly. It has a parasites. I am going to have to give it medication. She also said the bedding I’m using is bad I need to change it (reptile prime coconut fiber) I though it was good but should I switch it?

Good job getting your snake seen quickly. :gj: Why did she say your bedding is "bad" & what did she suggest that you switch to?
What kind of parasites does he have? That's probably easier to treat than an RI.
Re: Bringing this poor snake to the vet
She told me to switch to something that wouldn’t get stuck like newspaper or repti carpet. She said he had too many flagellates.

Oh, OK...it's not that there's an issue with your substrate long-term...I think what she's saying is that while your snake is being treated & until he gets well, he needs to
be on paper or carpet...that makes perfect sense. You can always call the vet's office if you need clarification, but by all means, listen to your vet.
