    I'm thinking it's a ribbon snake. But species ID isn't my strong suit.

    This is a garter snake, I suppose this is a northwestern garter snake (Thamnophis ordinoides), which is highly variable in coloration, but if you google for it you will find several pictures showing snakes similar to yours.

    I second this, there’s no mistaking that line or the way the scales look.
