    Bioactive Vivarium
I’ve been considering switching my BP over to a bioactive vivarium. Bio Dude has a BP package that comes with everything you need. I’m concerned with whether the live plants will hold up long term. My BP typically climbs on the artificial plants in her cage now. I’d like to. Hear anybody’s experience and opinions of a bioactive vivarium for BP’s.

I don't run any bioactive setups, but I know BPs, especially as they get some size on them, are complete bulldozers. So choosing solid plants will be a must.

I barely scratched the surface in regards to going bioactive, but I decided pretty quickly that for me the benefits didn't outweigh the work that goes into it. But that's just me.

I do run Bioactive setups not for BP but I can still offer guidance on that.

You can do it yourself for a lot cheaper than the biodude IMO, the key is proper substrate, plants and I will not lie BP are heavy body so you will need some plants that are not easy to kill or will re-root if crushed and of a good course cleaning crew.

For substrate I recommend to mix top or pointing soil make sure nothing is added to it, coco coir, sand and litter leaves.

Plant I recommend Pothos they are hard to kill

Cleaning crew I recommend Dwarf whites Isopods and Powder Orange Isopods

You will also need a frow light bulb for your plant.

Now would this work long term or if you had a 4000 grams BP? I think it would be difficult due to the amount of waste produced, smaller species however it would be a different story.
