New Member here with questions
Hello everyone my name is Pantelis and im from a town next to sacramento in California. I like to skateboard, play guitar, and my favorite have herps. Ok this is my question--- Ive seen tons of people with tubs for there ball pythons. And i want one for when i get my ball python. But how do you use heat lamps with them cause there like 5 inches high and they have a plastic top. So thats what i want to know and if you have one do you keep it open with out the top?

Heat lamps shouldn't be necessary. They dry out the air (which causes humidity issues), and if you can avoid using them I would. You must have an under the tank heat source for bps!! (That should be a sufficient heat source, connected to a thermostat to avoid burns) Oh and welcome to site. This is a great place. :D

A thermostat controls your heating device. It keeps it at a certain temperature (set by you) so you don't cook or freeze your snake.
There are different kinds (proportional and on/off) proportional are more expensive.. as long as you aren't breeding your snake, an on/off T-stat is fine.
Matt (justcage) sells several models. http://www.mgreptiles.com/
