Think it's time to move up to bigger hemostats!
Well it's either buy bigger hemostats, a really long set of tweezers or start using the red tail's tongs cuz no way am I feeding Miss Brann off the 6" hemo's anymore! LOL
She has always been an agressive, top notch eater but it's getting so Mike and I are like a well trained drill team....get f/t rat on lil hemostat's...the other person whips open her tub just enough to quickly shove the rat somewhere in the general vicinity of the opening...Brann fires up and out....snatches said lovely dead (albeit warm) rat off the hemostats and either retreats back into her tub or on one occasion hangs upside down half out of the tub clutching her dearly prized prey!
Don't get me wrong folks, I'm NOT complaining about a big beautiful female ball eating this strongly but heck, it's either go to far longer feeding instruments or I'm going to build the first sling shot rat delivery system! ;)
Btw has anyone ever seen a ball python grab and constrict their prey, then hold it in their coils whilst bumping the lid of their sterlite wondering if there might be another coming along anytime soon? Brannagh is definitely unique among the females here...she does stuff that just constantly astounds me LOL.

lol, Well I suppose if you had a huge retic with a long strike range after a big meal, those hemostats couldn't be long enough. ;)

Mine busted the 2nd time I tried to use 'em. I'll go with the surgicals (metal ones) when the time comes. Right now, Baby's eating live, so I just drop 'em in.. and ZAP!! No more mousey. One or two more successful feedings live, and I'll try to switch her to FT
