A no breeding clause 'eh? :) Someone's going to adopt a female and not intend to breed her? I guess that's possible. Not likely, but possible. :)

Most rescue places mean don't breed the animal, but you can't fix a snake. I don't see how they could really enforce it either way.

I dont like it when places like this post an adoption fee. That would mean that your buying the snake then. I especially hate it when City animal shelters do it. They want you to take the animal off their hands but they want you to pay for it. They should have a optional donation, atleast that would sound better.

Places like that NEED to require an adoption fee. They put out so much money to house these animals they need to recoup some of that so they continue operating. It's not like they are living the good life while gouging poor pet owners.
Mostly shelters keep their heads afloat by the generous donations receive not from the adoption fees they charge. And you are not taking an animal off their hands so much as they are trying to find a responsible owner for their animals. Usually people looking to get something for free don't educate themselves before hand on their pet and end up getting rid of them. That being said, most everyone here would LOVE to get a female bp for free and they are quite educated! But how is the shelter to know that. You are still paying much less than you would at a pet store.
