    Nighttime activity
My BP lies in the open at night when he comes out. Is that normal?

As long as he isn't lying in the open all the time including during the day, I'd say it's fine. Mine will occasionally come out at night for a cruise. My BP also has a tendency to freeze if I turn on the light or look at him when he's out at night, so it may be that he is moving around but stops when you see him.

Mine does that too sometimes. I've learned that worth BPs, normalcy is relative lol

Only does it during the night.
He’s always in his hide during the day, he’ll pop his out at the entrance of the hide when he knows he’ll be getting fed later on in the day.

He usually roams for a bit when he first comes then just chills in the open.

Yep, mine does this too. He likes to stretch out right in front of the enclosure door and just chill right there for a while at night.

Ball pythons are nocturnal and come out at night, this is very normal. Some like to just chill and stretch out, others will explore their whole enclosure looking for a way out. :snake:
