    Prey size
I bought my first ball python in October, a 1.5 year old female blue eyed lucy. I was told she was being fed small f/t rats weekly which is what I have continued to do however she never seems satisfied. She ate last night but is still hunting for more tonight. Should I change her over to medium rats or start feeding 2 smalls? I've seen people say they only feed their ball pythons small rats no matter how big the snake is so I'm unsure of what to do. She is about 3 feet long and 1220 grams. Thanks in advance!

That’s sounds a little big for a snake that size. I do know some of the older females will easily take a Medium, but for now I’d stick with the small rats. How’s your husbandry? Is your heat to high? Maybe try every five days instead, you really don’t want over feed though. Hope this helps, peace.

Here is your feeding guideline, because they don't seem to be satisfied does not mean you should feed them more if you already feed the right amount, overfeeding is a common issue and sooner or later your snake will fast.

She is probably just roaming around, not “hunting.”
If the environment is not right, they will roam around a lot and try to get out of their terrarium. Too hot, too cold, too dry, no hiding places, all will cause a ball python to roam.
Even if the environment is healthy, they will still sometimes roam and try to get out, for their own reasons...

Husbandry is perfect according to this websites care guides. Temperatures range from 79-81 across the tank and the hotspot is right at 90 degrees. I guess I will try every 5 days and see how she does. Thank you for the advice!

According to that chart though, a medium rat is recomended for her size
