Temp problems fixed with tub upgrade
So I started with a 6qt and just hated it. One hot side 90 and cool side room temp 72-75.

Decided upgrade during shed cycle since he wouldn't be coming out much anyway.

Upgraded to 15 qt. Sterilite latch bin. Hot spot hide directly on plastic @ 90. Used aspen bedding raised up 1/2 inch to create a second hot spot with hide just above 80. Then cool side room temp 75-72.

Transition went smooth, and now I'm confident in my setup. Hopefully he won't outgrow his hides too soon.

I personally think those temps are too cold for an ambient air temp. I aim for 80-85 and i have zero issues with my guys eating. 72-75 would be alright with me for a night drop however I keep mine consistent. I keep all my snakes in vision cages and use a radiant heat panel in conjunction with heat tape. If I used tubs/rack system I would heat the room they are in to to at least 80 and still provide belly heat on 1/3rd of the tub.just my 2 cents.
