Not sure what I'm looking at...?
Hi, I have a newcomer to my scaly family and I snapped a few pictures for us to debate what morph this lil noodle is! I am not good at knowing my morphs, I rescue and give these snakes a better life, not as much concerned with genetics since I won't be breeding, but i would be nice to know what she is in case im asked. [IMG][/IMG] I was thinking maybe she is a pastel.....? All i know is that she's not a normal morph, she looks nothing like my Lucie.

will this little girl's bright colors fade as she gets older, or will they be the same? I heard rumors of colors fading in females?

this is my second BP. My first is a normal morph Lucie, who I rescued from a severely abusive owner a year ago and was in much worse shape than this lil noodle. Thank god this newcomer doesn't have as many issues!

A little underweight but other than that not too bad! I'm 90% sure it's a female (using popping method and comparing to my Lucie whos female), and she was found on the edge of a garden here in Key West. Upon looking at this lil girl I'm pretty sure this is the same tiny BP I saw at our local pet store about 6 months ago. I'm naming her Alice, from alice in wonderland.

What age would you say this lil girl is? I was thinking maybe just under a year? I don't have a weight on her or length yet because Today is the day I adopted her, and since the shelter couldn't get her to eat (not that they would really know much about snakes or how to care for them- she had a heat lamp and no thermo-hydro meter or hide and a towel for substrate...) I bought both frozen medium mice and a live one who was preggers (yay for extra nutrition...?) and held its head with tongs while she struck it (Lucie has many scars from her previous owner feeding live the wrong way, so I'm not taking any chances with my first shot at it) And she took it right away! YAY! Now I'll have to see if she will take frozen thawed...

also based off of her size, should she eat once a week or sooner than that?

someone tried to scare me by saying she shouldn't touch anything belonging to my Lucie, for fear of some crazy diseases or what not. this was obviously someones pet, how worried should I be about illnesses, and how should I go about that? both snakes are in their own independent tub setups, and I use hand sanitizer in between touching their tubs and whatnot.

any other advice is welcome, thank so much, id love to see what kind of morph she is!

Someone should be weighing in shortly. And yes an animal found outside should be quarantined from any healthy established pets.

From the looks of it I say you have a one to two year old Yellowbelly. As for Quarantine minimum one month but some qt as long as three months and even longer.

Hard to tell it's that bright from the pictures, it could maybe have fire to brighten it up but it definitely doesn't have pastel, the color just isn't right. Even a browned out pastel will have more of a yellow color. It would be easier to tell if it has a lightening morph if you got a good head shot, they usually have some blushing. Head stamp is helpful in identifying other morphs as well.
