Genetic chance % question - red dragon boa
    Hi boa people!
Question: if I’d breed a albino (Kahl) 66% het blood with a Blood Kahl (red dragon) boa how many % of the babies will be a Kahl blood (red dragon) ? On genetic calculator it says 50% would be red dragon but that’s if one of the parent is Kahl 100 % het blood so I imagine the percentage got to be less than that.

any ideas? Guess it just comes down to basic genetic knowledge and math.

You either have a het or you don't. 66% refers to the chances that that parent IS het or is NOT het.

So basically, there is a 66% chance that you will have the same odds as a 100% het blood parent would have. (And it is now proven to be 100% het for blood)

There is a roughly 33% chance that the parent is NOT het blood, so you will have babies according to what the calculator says for a snake that is not het blood. (I think all kahl albinos, 100% het blood)

THANK YOU for your answer! I am SO happy to know this information now! And if I decide to go for a red dragon breeding program I’d probably go with a 100% het for sure!
