Enclosure Upgrade - AP10 (Too Big??)
Hey there...
My 2 year old male BP has been in a 3' x 1' x 1' pvc enclosure since I got him. He's about 600 grams and I'm thinking about upgrading his enclosure to an AP10. The large black hides I use are pretty tight in his current enclosure and he's stating to fill them out himself. Also, I like the idea of changing his heat source from two UTHs to a RHP which will help alleviate the need of heating the room to control ambients. I have an AP10 w/ an RHP for my Boa and it seems to be working well. Given the tendency of BP's to like small spaces, am I doing harm by switching him to something like an AP10 which is 48" x 24" x 15"?
Thanks!
CK

As long as he has a few hides I don't think the enclosure will be too large at all. You could even go with a T8 if you wanted. I would add the shelf to either enclosure.

Thanks Ziggy! I was thinking the T10 for easier cleaning purposes but never considered the shelf because I didn't think BPs would enjoy climbing. Mine spends most of the time in his hide. Now, the Boa is a different story. Maybe I should of gotten a shelf for him. Hope all is well.

My 18 year old BP is a climbing fool. She can hold her own with my Carpets most days.
Though these pics are 4-5 years old, she still ventures out.
