    Snake tree update
I posted awhile back about making a snake tree out of a coat rack. I have tweaked it a few times and wanted to share.

The most important part was making sure the branches were thick enough for the BP to feel secure. Adding foliage helped too.

The latest development was my BP deciding he could stretch down and let go and fall the last 2 feet. Once he learned this it became a game. I got into his snake brain and created a fake bottomless pit out of a dark blanket. He now will not attempt to jump since he thinks he will fall into a deep hole.

Of course I never trust him to left unsupervised

    My ratsnake also enjoys it

That is AWESOME! I'd love to have something like that for my snakes, especially the semi-arboreal critters. Great job!

I love this so much! The pit was a great idea.

That's hilarious about your "jumping BP" & his assumption that he's gonna fall into a deep pit... Great job! :gj:

This looks like so much fun! (Both for the snakes to climb, and for you to watch, haha.) I especially love the two-photo sequence of your BP slithering downward, eyeing the "bottomless pit," and U-turning back upward like "nope, never mind."

That's an amazing little gym you made for your snakes, they must be so happy to have that to climb around and have fun. The bottomless pit thing is cute and awesome, I never would of thought a black blanket would stop them. lol

Well she figured it out! Oh well, it was cool while it lasted. At least she's getting good exercise, and I have proof that BP can indeed solve problems and remember things.
