Reptile Moss vs. Craft Moss Question
Hello everyone! I like to put small amount of moss in my BP's enclosure to keep up humidity and give him just a little extra enrichment. However, at pet stores the moss can get kind of pricey for what it is... I've been wondering if crafting moss would be a good substitute? Craft stores and even the craft section of stores like Walmart sell moss, and sometimes for way cheaper than the pet stores do. I just don't know if it would be safe. Is the moss sold in pet stores treated a certain way to keep it safe? Should I just avoid the risk and sacrifice a few dollars for the pet store moss?
Thank you! :D
Re: Reptile Moss vs. Craft Moss Question
I think craft store moss is often dyed, and that that is undesirable. Not sure if it is directly harmful, but I wouldn't do it.
Have you looked at the moss on Amazon or Chewy? I've gotten the reptile branded kinds there for a lot cheaper than the big chain stores charge for it (if they even have any).
