    temp fluctuations...found out why (haha)
I was noticing rapid and drastic temp changes on my hot side last week, and yesterday I figured it out. When my BP goes from the cool side hide to the hot side hide (he switches a few times a day) he lays on the temp probe for the digital thermometer, and it changes quickly, then slowly climbs! I couldn't figure it out so save my life....then I watched it happen, the temp reading came down almost 9 degrees in less than 1 minute.

Shouldn't laugh but I will. Happened to me a ton of times with the Accu-Rite probe till I clued in to what was happening with a cool snake laying directly on a probe in their warm hide.

If the temp or humidity goes suddenly wonky I always check the probe first as I've also had the snakes drag it around a bit, pee on it, poop on it, knock their water dish over near it, etc. Our one big female takes daily satisfication it seems in dislodging her Accu-Rite - completely ripping the unit itself from the wall of her sterlite tub and hauling it off or dragging her hides hither and yon so all the readings are messed up nearly every morning LOL.

LOL. The only thing that's ever happened to me with my Accu-Rite, is a mouse sat on the F/C button one time, and when I checked it, temps were in the 20's. lol. I freaked for about a second, and then I realized what it was.
