New Bearded Dragons

I had a pair of Beard babies given to me and was curious about a few things.

1- Is my setup good? I have Reptilite sand with three coconut hides and a water dish. I have a UVB bulb and a heat lamp. The temp stays around 84.

2- I was thinking of feeding them baby foods with a little reptical mixed in. This along with some greens. I really don't want to feed them crix, but I'll need to wean them off from them.

3- :confused: :confused: :confused: I had a brain freeze, but I'll get back to you when I remember what else I needed to know.

Um, I read on the caresheets that the temps need to be 110. That is pretty hot, is that right?

yep....they need a basking spot of 105-110.

Oh, basking spot is different than ambient. I can do that :) .

I would get rid of the sand and water bowl and use newspaper and mist. The sand can cause impactions because beardies like to taste their environment and they do not understand that standing water is water...so they could possibly drown and probably they will not drink from the bowl. 84 is a good air temp but you need a basking spot of 105-110.

water is not needed in a dragon enclosure. they need dry desert type of environment. calci sand is the worse thing you can have for them, IF you want to use sand, use playsand from the hardware store.

like for example: they must have some kind of protien food. silkies are the best, don't smell and pretty easy to care for once you get going.

also, only one dragon per enclosure!
