    where does this go???
Don't know where this should be put...
But, to the point. Does anybody know of any kind of locks, or a locking system for racks. Not to keep the snakes in, but to keep stupid people that don't listen, out. So I have seen a local pet store that had something like what I want. Just want to know what they are called. Or who would sell them. Or something.

id consider this DIY since caging and locks can be so specific

Sometimes you just have to be creative...since set-ups can vary so much. Helps me to wander around hardware & home improvement stores, to get ideas.
And nothing wrong with asking that pet store you saw them in.

For a rack, the one shown in this thread is the best DIY version of a lock I've seen for people. My plan is to just lock people out of the room if they're not trustworthy around my snakes, so I'm not actually using this on mine, but I'd plan it based on this and what I can find at the hardware store.

I was picturing something along those lines too, but as the OP said, "what to call it"? a "locking bar" maybe"
I'm not a rack-lover, but they did a nice job on that one...

Was trying to figure a way to explain something extremely similar. This is a very good way to do it. You could also have a board a few inches wide hinged on one side to the side of your rack and the height of your rack that you latch at the top and bottom or somewhere in the middle. Kind of like this too box. And put a lock on ithttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ac0be31b4c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c8d86175b4.jpg

Think I might try to be creative and drill the holes that the pins go in, for the VE racks, through the holes and tub handle and just use those cable suitcase combination locks.

That sounds like it would work. You could also use a metal rod with a flat plate on top and a hole for a small lock at the bottom and use the same idea might look a bit cleaner.

Get some "u" brackets I think they're called and screw them into racks then slip a rod through them so the tubs can't come out. Drill a hole in the rod below where it sits at the top most bracket and slip a lock through it so the rod can't be removed.
