Feeding behavior

Does anyone have retics that’ll eat without striking? I’ve never had a snake that I didn’t have to taunt a little with their food for them to eat. My retics both have had a very strong feeding response, however 4 feeding ago I tossed a rabbit into my males cage to warm up under the Che and next thing I know he’s over there eating it. He’s eaten that way every time since, no strike or coil. My female has also started showing similar behavior but I have to sneak in and give the rabbit a little wiggle then she’ll sort of bite it, no coil then eat.

Mine will, or they may only throw one coil over the feeder. As long as they do eat they can be as lazy as they want.

My retics are both still young (under 1 yr). One is brand new to me and hasn't eaten yet, while the one I've had longer will strike if its food is dangling, but lazily take it if he just finds it laying in his enclosure. :)

I’m certainly not bothered if they want to be lazy eaters, makes feeding a little less eventful then when they’re following my every move looking at me holding my feeding tongs the way I look at a ribeye or chicken wings haha. I’m still amazed how fast they learned they don’t have to bother “hunting” or trying to kill their food.
