    New pickup and Help?
Decided to go with a new albino green granite female for future pairing was looking for hets but she was cheap enough haha. But one thing I have noticed with her what none of my others do when I handle her she is making a kind of hiss slash wheeze noise I have opened her mouth no bubbles what i could see but has anyone experienced this before and if so what was the outcome thanks.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2f1bbcf8b1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4d638863f9.jpg

Some burms are naturally noisy breathers even when small. I would keep an eye on her but if you're not seeing any other signs of RI then she's probably fine.

It’s like a little whistle hiss when I hold her but I have been checking for last half hour and from what I can tell she doesn’t do it in the viv when I leave her alone or maybe I’m just not hearing her I was just abit concerned she was doing it on and off and like I said I was concerned I will just keep a eye out .

My SD X Dwarf retic had a little whistle and a pop sound reminiscent of a valve closing when he was younger. He didn't do it in his viv, only when being handled.

I imagine the heavier breathing created by being handled caused the sounds.

There was never anything wrong with him. I did however keep an eye on him to make certain nothing else was developing.

    He seemed to outgrow it.

Hopefully that is the case I am going to keep a close eye on her . I have been checking her every couple hours she doesn't seem to be doing it in her viv . I am still not 100 percent on it though I am going to keep a close eye on her .

    Good move on your part.

I will say I'm pretty optimistic that nothing is wrong:)

She is a beautiful snake the pictures don’t do her justice . But like I said I have never heard this before and I have numerous Burmese pythons as they are the only species I have so it concerned me it seems to be she does that noise when active I may just take her vet regardless it is £30 just for a check up and they are good vets reptile only centre . Will put my mind at rest haha

I keep new arrivals Quarantined. You never know.
With that said I have 2 that have a Nasal situation. One makes a whistle and the other almost sounds like she blows her nose. Neither are sick.
I also had a large male that started wheezing a week before shedding like clock work. Scared the heck out of me 25 years ago. Once he shed it went away as fast as it came on...
keep your ambient up since you just got him and watch over the next month.
    Nice Pick Up [emoji1362]
