    My new pink guyana bcc!
So at the rexpo reptile show this saturday I went in with the hopes that they might have a few boas available, not expecting to find what I was really hoping for, a bcc. Unfortunately, they didn't have as many boas as the last show I went to, and no captive bred bcc, but I was thrilled to find this beautiful farm bred guyana female for sale at an insane low price... and while you can't see it well in the pics, she is a crazy fushia color.. she stood out from all the others there. The vendor said she was a bit snappy, but when has not attempted to bite me, she's just very cautious, and one can hardly blame her. Think I found a new favorite snake...now... to think of a name. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...889fd26f57.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6e76269919.jpg

It must be boa fever!! :) She's a beautiful pickup. I love Guyanas. Came so close to going home with one recently but ultimately chose the BCO instead. Are you doing anything different as far as treating for internal parasites? I just posted a thread on that today - I've got a little somethin' somethin' coming this week, also a CB import - trying to figure out the best time to take her to the vet for an exam and am planning to get a fecal done on her.

Thanks, I actually had a big guyana girl years ago, but had to give her up to a friend during a really rough patch in my life. Ever since, I had been hoping the day would come where I could find another one and start again, and it finally has. So far, I haven't treated her for anything internal, but I'm gonna wait a week and see if she eats and or poops, and then I may take that to see if my vet will run a fecal for me. Considering the risk of possible disease, I'm keeping her seperate from my collection untill next winter... just to be sure. My first guyana years ago was wild caught most likely, but back then I never worried about parasites or disease, and she never gave me any health issues in the many years I had her.

Lol whats the deal with the hook!!?? Reach in and just pick her up!!! Key is dont be scared to get bit. Animals can sense it and it makes them leary too.

Also, hooks arent really made to pick up large animals, mostly just to tap them or guide them. Yours is small enough though.

And last but not least, nice looking boa. Very clean. I had to trim down my collection a little but boas will always be there with me.

Oh no, the hook was just to get a decent pic of her since my arm wasn't quite long enough to get a decent shot and she kept wanting to crawl to my face. Lol. I mostly use the hook to lift my more food agressive snakes out of their enclosures, they are all good once I get them out and into my hands. She is actually pretty calm for a relatively wild animal and I suspect she will grow up to be a sweetheart.

As far as the clean pattern goes, I've honestly never seen one this color or with such a reduced pattern before, my first boa was a lavender color with lots of dark markings.. I'm excited to see what she grows into and if maybe she could even be worth breeding someday.

Ok, a few pics from tonight, she just shed and hopefully I can get a few pics in natural light soon that show off her true colors. She's a very curious and docile snake and I'm thinking she's gonna end up being my favorite in short order. I've chosen to name her leviathan, or Levi for short.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a9f79cc3f8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...68cb244692.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...210f2bbbc7.jpg
