Need help with Paper I'm writing
I'm writing a paper on Ball Pythons for a project I'm working on. Can you all tell me
"What are the most common mistakes first time owners make?"
If anyone can help I will be forever grateful, I did google searches and read alot but they all where saying conflicting things. I just want to make sure all my facts are right.
Thank you.
Re: Need help with Paper I'm writing
1. putting heat bulbs in and not realising their humidity is shot
2. using an under tank heater without a control device and cooking their snake
3. not getting a digital thermometer and freezing/cooking their snake
4. not putting good secure hide spots (two at least) in the cage
5. not using a good locking lid
6. handling their snake a lot right after buying it
Re: Need help with Paper I'm writing
Not learning as much as possible about the snake's point of view & behavior BEFORE getting one.
Re: Need help with Paper I'm writing
Don't forget the heat rocks, or listening to those ill-informed and well-meaning people at the pet store. (not meant to offend people who work there and actually take the time to learn)

*applauds Kara's answer!!!*
I would add not understanding if in fact that particular type of snake is appropriate for that person's lifestyle or expectation of what a pet snake is like (in other words if you want something that acts like a puppy....buy a puppy...not a snake LOL).

Just not having the environment set up beforehand too!! (Just had to add that ;) )
Re: Need help with Paper I'm writing
Buying a snake just because they thought it would be "cool" to have.
