Camper herps
We are moving into a camper in a few weeks and I'm having some trouble figuring out appropriate heating for my guys. We are putting them in sterlite plastic bins. Any advice will be helpful thanks!

What's the power situation? Shore power, generator, tow vehicle power?

Mostly, stay on guard for temp. swings. I don't have specific experience, but we will be moving on to our land this summer/fall. Our housing will be a mix of trailers, connex boxes, etc. I'll have the electric plug-ins on solar. Can't wait to get out there, but it will be a challenge to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. At this point, I am more concerned about them overheating than anything else.
In case you haven't come across it yet, Bob Wells at CheapRVLiving YouTube channel, is a good source of how-to info.

Re: Camper herps
Shore power for the most part, but we will be traveling through Canada for a bit before getting to our new home. I was thinking about using an UTH but not sure how the plastic will hold up.

With a properly installed quality thermoSTAT, your plastic tubs should last as long as plastic tubs normally do. If you achieve safe and healthy BP hot spot temps, the plastic should show no wear from heat. I used tubs before my racks and when I transferred my snakes I went on to use their old tubs for general household storage. Your tubs should be fine, use a thermostat properly!

Campers often aren't very well insulated so I would also be concerned about ambient temperature swings. If you're going to use tubs use two UTH's on each one. One set should be set 90-92*F, the other 80-82*F. If it gets too hot the low side UTH's will simply cut off, and if your ambient drops because it still gets pretty darned cold at night then with both sets of UTH's active your snake should stay warm enough.
