Need tips on disinfection for used rack.
I recently purchased a used rack. I've already cleaned the tubs and disinfected them with F10sc.

My question is how do I disinfect the rack itself. It uses back heat. Is it ok to wipe the inside including heat tape down and spray everything with diluted F10sc? Or should i avoid the heat tap?

I dont know the full answer, but when i buy new racks i wipe them down with f10. For the heat tape i mist my papertowel lightly then wipe the heat tape and then take a dry one and wipe it again. I wait a bit before pluggin everything in just to be safe. I haven't had any issues yet but i also only have 2 racks.

I don't use racks of any kind but I sure use heat tapes...wiping them with a damp rag (with F10 or chlorhexidine) should be just fine (power off!), as well as
ALL the areas you can reach. With this being a used rack (from unknown source, I assume?), you might also be wise to treat the rack for mites prior to using.
The tubs are the easy part. ;)

I would also wipe down the tubs and the undersides of the shelves with 100% ammonia since it's the only sanitizer that kills crypto. I wouldn't put it on the heat tape, just areas the snake can access.

Rinse it VERY well and let everything air out for a few days afterward. I only use ammonia outside the house.
