    Treating water (reptisafe)
Do you guys treat your tap water before giving it to your boa's? Is it necessary?

I dont. If its good enough for me it's good enough for the snakes.

I dont have a boa, but I use the Wal-Mart spring water in gallon bottles for my BP. Its 97 cents and lasts almost a month, and I use it for misting and the water bowl. I don't like the idea of Reptisafe, if I have to put chemicals IN the water, well, you get the idea...

I use it... I have frogs who don't like chlorine, so I use it for everything.

I've never used it for my snakes. I drink the same tap water every day.
Snake's don't need it as long as your water is safe for you, it's safe for them.

Well, to be fair, my tap water isn't safe. The city sends out a memo telling people not to drink it straight, hence the bottled spring water for my snake.

Thanks for the replies. Our tap water is good to drink so I'll go that route!

I use tap water and have been for my big boas for over 5 years and they are still alive and kickin. Assuming you have a good municipality water supply, i would just use the tap. If you are that worried about chlorine or chloramine, just put the water in 1 gallon jugs and let them sit out overnight before using them.
