I think the wood is scratching my snake
So I just got Apollo out and it looks like he’s got some pink scratches. I’m assuming it’s from this grapevine wood that he likes to curl into. Let me know what y’all think!

I'm guessing they mean the few missing scales along the right side on the first tight bend in the snakes body. I had to zoom in to see it. I don't know enough to offer any guidance though.

If OP is referring to those, I think they are bent scales, probably from curling up around or against the grapevine wood. My BP gets those too at a lesser extent from curling up in his cave (see below, he also has 3 bent scales and more on another part of his neck but I couldn't get as clear of a picture of those). They'll straighten out themselves or at worst will be fixed by the next shed.

Or if Jcd5v was referring to those faint pink lines on the snake's back I think those could just be light markings showing as part of the BEL morph?

This red mark is what I was talking about. I took the wood out just in case. He probably hates me for it because it’s his favorite place to hide.

My bad. Didn't see that in the first picture though I see it now that I know.

Could it just be because he’s white? I mean when I itch my neck it gets red and then goes away. He really likes this hide so if I can keep it I’d like to.

Give that snake his hide back. He should have at least 2 anyway, one cool side & one warm side. It doesn't have to be THIS kind, but really I don't see the problem.
It's like getting white carpet in your house & not expecting to see every little thing, lol....

OR: If you want a stressed out BP that won't eat, just keep his hide out of his cage. ;) I'm not sure that [very irregular] mark was from the hide anyway.

I know you need two hides. He has 4 lol. It’s gone today so I’m pretty sure it was from the hide.
