Making a dream cage...

For my birthday my uncle has offered to help me make a dream cage for Link. So...I'm wondering if anybody has some ideas or tips to share with me. I'm really looking for what the best dimentions would be, thanks!

well, depends male or female. male BP i would say about 3'x2'18'', while a female could go 4'x2'x18''.

He's a male. I'm guessing he's about a year old, give or take a few months.

33" x 15" x 5" .... perfect for a ball python! :D

What's a good material? And how can protect the wood parts of the cage?

I coated my wooden cage (3/4" plywood) with several coats of outdoor deck stain, then sealed the inside with polyurethane and the inside edges with aquarium silicone. I also stuck some sticky linoleum tiles on the floor. Mine's heated with a radiant heat panel, but it was kind of expensive (it was my Christmas AND birthday present last year, lol) The front swinging doors are made of 1/4' plexi. So far this cage has caused me no problems with heat or humidity whatsoever, and Eleanor seems to be enjoying it. Dimensions are approximately 40x20x20. I guess it didn't really need the height, but there's a peice of driftwood in there that I catch her basking on every night.

Cool, my heat source is going to be Flexwat with a thermostat attached on each side. Your cage sounds like what I'd like to do with mine. Where did you find the aquarium silicone?
