    Normal?
Recently acquired a 2 year old female bp. Was informed she was mistreated and underfed. She is quite a bit smaller than my one year old bp. My new bp is shedding and I have noticed an area that looks red and raw. Don’t know if it is a previous injury or bad shed. The area is an outline of an oval with another line going down from that. Her lights and heat are all on the outside of the tank and there is nothing in the tank she could have hurt herself on. Anyone know what this might be?

Pics would surely help here...but from the history you say she has, maybe it was a previous injury that was uncovered by the shed?

Agreed...no clue without pics. Could it be a burn? Are your heat sources regulated by a thermostat?

red and raw, oval with a line sounds like a belly burn. could be from the bad previous owners or you current setup. are the heatsources regulated by thermostats? if not, unplug it until u can get them. remove the substrate in her enclosure and put her on clean paper. monitor and take her to a vet asap if it worsens.
