    Lazy males...
I have been investing and building a small breeding business and currently have 13 females that have locked with males at least one time so far this season, most have them have locked multiple times.
I have one extremely shy male that will not breed. He is a “proven breeder” from big time breeder Ken Macek, so I was trusting his word when I bought him.
He also has only eaten twice in the last few months. when I received him he was very bulky for a male, over 1800 grams.
I’m beginning to think that the reason he won’t eat or breed is that he is just too big for his own good! Maybe once he is leaned out a little more, he will get more active.
    Does this sound right?

Any other experience with males not breeding all season? Reasons?

What tricks have you tried to get him on point?

It's really a BIG male so not eating is not unusual for an animal that size when they recently change environment I had it happen over and over again with adults.

As for the laziness sometimes males are truly lazy and sometimes they are just picky or the female is picky.

The only thing you can do is use stubborn breeder tricks, shed and sperm plug, putting him in with 2 females, and if he is not lean I would put him on a diet too.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I figured Deb. I’m just going to give him the rest of this season off, let him fast, (since he is anyway!). And leave him be for awhile.
I have plenty of other horny serpent dudes.
