Snake feeding

My corn snake is 1 year old, I've had her since April last year and I don't think she's ever constricted her meal once. She traps it and eats it straight away, is this okay?

I have seen that on videos I have also seen corn snakes just picking Frozen thawed up and eating it without constricting
And also just simply taking from someone's hand

It's fine...snakes get used to taking pre-killed prey (ie. learn they don't have to kill it) & many become calmer pets as a result too. It's all I feed my snakes.

So the main thing is, make sure that no one EVER gives her a live rodent, as she'll be much more likely to be injured, not expecting to do battle. :gj:

Not an uncommon thing for corns IMO, none of my colubrids (corns, king) constrict their f/t. My oldest corn, she'll start eating right off the tongs if I let her.

My young ratsnake does this too. She's never constricted. As a baby she would simply go up to it and eat it. Then as she got a bit older she would drag it to her hide. Now she will quickly grab it as soon as she recognizes its prey, and then let go and eat it. I think, as ferociously as she is starting to grab it, she would constrict a live one no problems, but lucky for her she doesn't have to. :-)
