Rack tub set up?

    Rack tub set up?
I finally got my rack in. So the tub is approximately 22x14x4. So it says. But looks smaller. But I have my BP's in them. Both in separate tubs. I have the thermostat set on 95. Have a very thin layer of forest floor bedding. The problem is that the humidity is at 80% and doesn't go down at anytime. I also have holes drilled in the tubs. The temp for the back half of the tub is around 93-95. And the front half is 80-82.
So I'm wondering should I dump the bedding and use paper towels. Or take and set a bucket of forest floor out to dry out a little then replace it?
What would be the best option at getting the humidity down some?

I would say some drier bedding and maybe a few extra holes, you can always cover some if you make too many. More air moving will help dry things up and maybe bring your hot end down a few degrees. Did you have your snakes in something else before? if so I would think to get them back in there till you make sure everything is worked out in the new racks. Plus isn't 4" height kinda short? I'm aiming to have a month between finishing building my enclosures and getting my snakes so I can learn a few things about tweaking my specific setup. As to it looking smaller the measurements probably include the overhangs on the side so you actually get a bit less usable space then is listed in the dimensions.

Just changed the bedding. And turned thermostat to 92.
Actually it's 4.75in tall. But it still works nonetheless. But it's only a VE-2. I think the VE-2 and VE-6 are the smallest racks. Im pretty sure the next sizes on up use bigger tubs.
But it is a space saver.
BTW. In the process of drilling more holes.

Personally I switched to paper towels and couldn’t be happier. Cleaning and humidity control are much easier now.

That's what I'm trying now. Dumped all the forest floor out and put in paper towels. Going to get a digital hygrometer and see.

When I tried repti bark, the humidity spiked at 90%. I microwaved it twice and still couldn’t get the moisture out of it. Switched to paper towels and it’s consistent at 50-60%.

The moisture just dissipates after 24 hours in the viv ..

True in a tank or viv it does. My 40 gallon tank has bark in it and does great. Not so much in the rack.
