Feeding when blue

Quick question...my BP is blue and has been for a few days. Still hasn't actually shed yet, although he's got to be close. He was supposed to eat yesterday. But I didn't offer. Should I see if he wants to eat, or just wait til he finishes shedding?

I try feeding each of my snakes once while in shed, if they eat (only my King does) I continue to offer. If they refuse, I never offer again while that snake is in shed. I then feed the day after they shed and restart the feeding schedule from that day.

I go by personality. I had luck and no luck regardless of species, including the aggressive feeder types like kings. My king (as sweet as she is) gets extra grumpy during shed and don't even try. Could be an older snake thing too as she is my oldest in my collection and of unknown age when I got her. However, my woma who is still a growing babe, always have a very sweet disposition, would eat no matter how he feels. My Children Python is an aggressive feeder as well, probably the most aggressive one in my collection as he strikes at the glass and screen lid even days prior to feeding day. But should you not see him do this, that is because he is in shed and wants to be left alone during that time.

I don't even bother with the my bp and boa. Missing 1 or 2 meals really don't hurt them. If you have a baby already losing weight, then I would try. Otherwise, it won't hurt to wait unless you know your snake and the food won't go to waste.

You will not know if she eats until you try, I will say that 85 to 90 of my animals will eat while in shed, those that have an habit of not eating anymore I no longer offer.

Now when it comes to your case if you feed f/t and you animal refuse it will be wasted if you do not have another snake and if you feed live you may end up with a "pet" for another week (depending on the age of the feeder)

If you want to wait there is nothing wrong with that.

All mine eat while in blue. Even the ones I have at work. You won't know till you try.

I don't usually bother feeding snakes in blue- though some will take it, others won't. And I don't worry about keeping an exact schedule...nature doesn't provide
on schedule either, & snakes have evolved to manage just fine.

All of mine (and the ones I've owned before) have eaten while in blue too. Just from observation, I'd say the majority of snakes do eat when in blue.

I tried to with my first snake, but he wouldn't feed while blue. Now I don't even attempt anymore. I feel that its a good break for them.
