Is this size rat okay to feed my BP?
    https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil...3a254c57a.jpeg

I’m a little frustrated with my online supplier for my frozen rats.
I ordered 25 frozen rat fuzzies, and they sent me what looks like pups. Not sure if it was an error sizing, they mixed my order up with someone else, or they were out. They never contacted me with the issue prior to shipping. I probably won’t be buying from them again.

Anyhow, I’m concerned about the size, they are quite a bit larger than fuzzies. Do you think she’d be able to eat these okay without issues? I need to feed her Saturday, if they are too big I guess I’ll have to get a fuzzy from my local exotics shop, but with how icky their store and terrariums look I’m not sure the quality is up to par.

I would feed it given your circumstance. No handling for a week. Skip the next feeding.

If I had another prey size available: I would definitely go smaller.

Note: If you feed large prey items and your temps are off--you are likely to see a regurgitation.

    Here is a feeding guide:

You should weigh your ball python in order to know what size of prey to feed. Weighing takes all the guess work out :)

It's hard to tell how big they are from a picture but it looks alright to me

24g, the snake is 121g. I may just get a rat fuzzy from the store until she’s able to eat these. I don’t really want to risk regurgitation.

It's a fairly large meal but not too big. Just wait a little longer to feed again.

I fed mine the exact same thing last night. My boy looks to be about the same size as your girl however my scale is broke but I'm going to go buy another one today and weigh him

I'd go through and weigh the rest of the feeders, at her weight a 15% meal is 18 g and a 20% meal would be right at 24 g. If you weigh the rest there may be a few smaller ones in there.

She may be able to take a 24, but I'd try to start with the smallest feeder you have.

I usually weigh my new feeders when I get them and split them up in ziploc baggies based on weight that way I can work my way from the smallest stuff in the order to the largest ones. For fuzzies and pups I'll do like a 3-4 gram range on the baggies, depending on how many of what size there are, and once I get up to smalls and mediums I'll go with generic 10 gram categories. It makes meal prep a breeze for my quickly growing collection.
