    i'm no expert on photos, but i know some basics.

    use alot of lighting

    use a tripod

    experiment with different settings (exposure,aperture,shutterspeed,flash)

    take a lot of shots

    if your camera has a bracketing feature that is good to use or try.

    the lights are a very important part of getting good shots. different types of lights throw different color casts into pictures. reg. household light bulbs throw a yellow tint, flourescent lights throw a greenish tint.

    i use powercompact bulbs that screw into a reg. socket, they are put into clamp light fixtures. the bulbs are balanced for daylight. i got mine at walmart but there are ones made for photo use at triple the cost. most of the time i use a black or white background, this can be as simple as a sheet or piece of foamboard or as fancy as photo canvas. just experiment and take alot of pics to choose from.

    a few pics i had in my gallery for example, i'd call these average shots.
