Greetings from Washington State.
Hello folks, I live out on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula in the PNW. I have had various interactions with snakes (corns and pythons) in classrooms (3rd grade, 7th grade) and have always been fascinated by them. I was ready to pull the trigger and pick up my first snake when fate intervened and I found my housing situation in disarray (landlord opted to sell rather than rent at the end of my lease, small town tough to find rentals if you know how that goes). I am now renting a spacious cottage for one and the fates were kind enough to provide another opportunity, a friend of mine had grown dispassionate about his BP. One hide, one water dish, same aspen substrate for a year, no thermometer and no hygrometer and fed ~5 times a year or when he remembered, my friend was not happy keeping her and I am sure she (the snake) was unhappy as well. All of which has been remedied, larger enclosure, multiple hides, bigger water dish, foliage and branches, and multiple monitors for her tank, she eats on a schedule and without any fuss.
I leapt at the opportunity and find myself with a cozier living arrangement and a 4 year old female normal ball python (renamed to Senua). I do my darndest to keep up on research, husbandry and have read these forums endlessly and am now quite happy to have joined instead of just lurking about! I look forward to participating and continuing to learn.

:welcome: to the forum :colbert2:
I love the name ( just bought the game ) and look forward to seeing pictures of the snake in question. :)
ETA: just looked at the pictures and she is gorgeous.
Re: Greetings from Washington State.
Thank you!
I struggled with a name for her, she was previously Bellatrix from Harry Potter, but calling her Bella sounded like either Twilight or Harry Potter, so I named her after Senua from Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (a fantastic game btw).
Re: Greetings from Washington State.
Thank you kindly, this community does seem quite fantastic and friendly, happy to be apart of it!
Re: Greetings from Washington State.
I posted some photos to the member gallery, my avatar is her "yawning" after a feeding a bit back.
You are not pushy at all and I think I figured how to post photos on here.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a1270c4520.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...efb076a2ec.jpg
