African rock python

I am looking for a baby or small african rock python. Does anyone know who might have them in the usa??? :)

In the past, Kingsnake always had a few listed, although they aren't showing any currently. Any reason why you'd choose an African Rock over a Burm?

I Love Burms And Now Just Bough A Baby Burm. I've Had African Rocks Before And Had A Sweet Little Male Long Ago. Just Wanted One If Their Available. Backwater Reptiles Has Them On Their Site But Their Always Saying All Out. Wrote Them An Email Twice But So Far No Response.

Don't buy anything from Backwater. They don't breed the animals themselves and they have one of the worst reputations in the business. Before buying an animal, search the breeder on the Fauna BOI.

Thanks For Telling Me. I'll Stick With Going To The Repticon Shows Near Where I Live. I Know Some Good People There. It Looks Like Finding A African Rock Will Be Hard. Maybe Ill Stick To Finding A Nice Red Blood Python. If You Or Any One Knows Good Breeders Let Me Know. And Best Way To Care For One.

Well I'd be feeding you a line a crap if I said I knew a lot about them, but from what I've heard they don't seem to have great attitudes compared to Burms. Could be a tall tale though, who knows.

I Had A Small Good Natured One. Like Burms When They Get Super Large It Can Become A Problem Handling Them.

I've read that their bad reputation comes from back when they were wild caught and imported. Most captive bred ones are more similar in temperament to ball pythons. Redshepherd has one so hopefully she will chime in too.

If these larger species are difficult for you to handle, why not consider a different species? Ball pythons, carpet pythons and boa constrictors make great pets but stay at a more manageable size.

I personally love bloods/STPs. They've calmed down quite a bit with a few generations of captive breeding.

I Have A Sweet Female Boa Name " BABY GIRL " And A Sweet Yellow Anaconda . Had A Jungle Carpet Python And A Few Balls. Would Like Other Than A Rock A Red Blood Python. Just Not Sure The Best Way To Care For One.
