New tank

So I got a new tank for Mamba. It's a used 40g I picked up for cheap. I know it has to be cleaned out thoroughly. But is there anything I need to do besides making sure temps and humidity are on point? I have them dead set right now in the 20g. I know it'll be a little harder in a bigger tank. Or so I think.

With the larger tank, I’d offer at least a couple of extra hides and put in a bit more clutter. Since you already have experience dialing in the temps and humidity for a tank, I’d say you’re already half way there. Just make sure everything is up and running and completely dialed in before you add Mamba.

How many hides you think? I have 2 right now. One on the hot side and one on cool side.

For my three 2018 hatchlings, I have 4 hides spaced around the cage which is 32”x30”x12”. It gives them more clutter, plus they can select from 4 different temperature zones. That said, two of the three regularly rearrange cage furnishings, so nothing is where I originally put it. :rolleyes:

Depending on Mamba’s size compared to the tank, you could added 1 or 2 additional hides or just more clutter (plants - real or fake, branches, etc.).
