Is my baby Pastel pied ball python underweight?
Hello all, I just got another ball python, she’s a Pastel pied female. She’s supposed to be about 3 months old but is only 91gr and for me looks kind of skinny, she’s pretty small.

They told me she ate fine, and 2 days ago ate a f/t rat pinky for me. Does it look underweight to you? And if so, should I feed her more often? I was planning on feeding maybe a rat fuzzy every 5 days

She looks fine to me :) my girl is 6 months and only 75g and doesn’t look underweight, I will say your snake looks older than 3 months. I know for feeding you should be feeding 1 prey item the size of the largest part of the snakes body every 5-7 days.

No she's not underweight for her size, just small. Feeding a rat fuzzy every 5 days would work great!

Looks fine to me. Assuming she is 3 months then she is just small. If she is much older and the breeder maintenance fed her (to keep her small): then it may take her a long time to get larger.

I would offer as much as she will eat on a weekly basis and let her decide.

Of the four 2018 harchlings I purchased this year, I have one that is substantially smaller than the other three. She was harder to get started feeding regularly, but once started she eats fine but does not have the bulk of the other 3, even though all are eating the same type and amount of food.
