    Ball Python prolapse
    Hi all,
recently my ball python Chaka experienced a prolapsed cloaca. After soaking him in warm water and applying a sugar paste I was able to get the swelling down and get it back inside of him and bandaged it up. This was just yesterday and I know my boy needs time to heal before he tries to eat again. How long do I wait? I was thinking about 2-3 weeks but I want to be sure so it doesn’t happen again. Thanks!!

How old is he? An adult could easily go 3-4 weeks before being fed again.

I would make the next feeder half-sized.

Also what in the world did you use for a bandage?

He’s only about 5 months now. I used plain tissue and taped over the tissue with medical tape just to keep in in place.

What has he been eating? I agree with bcr229....wait as long as possible (not less than 3 weeks) & feed much smaller rodents (younger rodents make
far less waste) & he needs to heal.
