    Substrate Plastic
Just a heads up for new(like me) owners. I just got done replacing substrate and cleaning tubs. I decided to switch to bark instead of coco fiber this time to minimize fiber ingestion during feeding. I always microwave my substrate to kill any parasites that may be present as well as to lower initial humidity.

When I was drying and inspecting the substrate, I found a piece of extremely sharp and hard plastic. While it may not have ever caused an issue, It could have easily been a disaster if it was metal or tape or anything else that came from the manufacturing process. Keep an eye out! Just because it’s new, doesn’t mean it’s 100% safe.
