Glad i got my copy...

So i saw on Cutting Edge herps that Vin's 'The Complete Boa' book is sold out and out of print now. There are 2 up on Amazon for $400 and $3000 lol.

With that said, if anyone is dying to get the book, i have a pristine copy including the jacket which I will part with for 2 pristine Peruvian BCC...preferably a male and female ;)

Lmfao!! I lucked out when I got mine early this past summer. I think I paid $60 on amazon.

In case someone just HAS to have it, and doesn't happen to have 2 Peruvians for Sauzo, there is a copy (new) to be had in a UK bookstore, they ship world wide, with shipping about 84 english pounds or 100 something dollars ;)

WOW! Holy Columbus Ohio!

I talked to Vin at the last NY Reptile Expo and he told me to grab a copy and that it was out of print. He said the only way they would print more is if he added to it and he wasn't sure if he was going to do that.

I bought my copy about a month ago for $100 anticipating a price hike, but not to 5 figures! Geez!

Very glad I did. Best book I've ever read, in aggregate, on Boa's. He even has 1 1/2 pages on Venezuelan True Red Tail "Dwarf" BCC's.

I got mine a couple of years ago. Didn't have a boa yet, but wanted to read that book before choosing one.
I'll be curious to see if demand outpaces the used supply for this book. I buy a lot of out of print books on-line, and titles that were once very costly have become affordable again. Recently, I've been getting copies in "very good condition" of just about anything I want for between $20 and $50.

That, however, is the textile scene - probably more people are ageing out of the crafts than entering. Don't know if the potential audience for the most well regarded book on boas is growing or shrinking.

Chaz of S'n'A channel (or something close to that, he has a couple) recorded a video on five of his favorite reptile books. I looked them up, and came up with about the same range of prices, except for the Monograph of the Colubrid Snakes of the Genus Elphae, Fitzinger. That one was $200-something. Probably the title I would be most interested in, but I expect another will turn up eventually that is much less expensive. Just takes patience and regular browsing. Chaz also recommended Health and Welfare of Captive Reptiles Warwick (editor). IIRC, I found a listing for that one for $46.

I just ordered that book and it was nowhere near that price. Bought the Complete Ball Python as well. Itis outrageously priced on Amazon.
