Having Humidity Trouble

I recently changed substrates to a coco/forest floor mix after the humidity in my BP's tank crashed from 50-60% to 25% thanks to the sudden dryness where I live thanks to fires.

But now the humidity is at 90-99% and I've moved the water dish to cooler side, removed the cover but the humidity is still in the 90s. How can I bring it down?

My BP's tank has an under tank heater set to 90 on the hot and the other side is 80. Both are controlled by thermometers.

What kind of gauge are you using to check the humidity? Sure it's not stuck and giving a false number?

Uncovering the lid should dry it out pretty quickly

I'm using an AcuRite Humidity Monitor placed on the substrate of his tank. I just took it out to wipe and dry in case that was the problem.

It’s normal for humidity to spike like that when using fresh coco substrate. Take the substrate out and put it in the microwave for 5 minutes. This will dry it out.

I usually stop and stir mine up so it dries out all of it.
