Tips on keeping humidity up

So I've recently gotten a che & insulated my tank to help with heat over the winter, but, although it's helped A LOT with heat, it has totally zapped my humidity
I never really had issues with humidity before so I'm not exactly sure how to go about fixing this. I've been misting the tank a lot, but it always goes back down below 40% after about half an hour
Any tips are greatly appreciated, I just really wanna get this fixed!

You can put foil, plastic or even a damp towel over parts of the screen top. You could change to a substrate that holds moisture better. You could add sphagnum moss. Increase the size of the water dish. Also Che’s are horrible for humidity, I heat my tanks with infrared bulbs on a dimmer. Che’s get two if not three times as hot at the base then a comparable bulb. I also use a very large humidifier. I sure many more will chime in with much more advise. But that’s some ideas and starting advice. Hope it helps!

All good tips...If you've got room to add a 2nd water bowl that helps too. I put 2 in all my enclosures except my little hognose since he doesn't require higher humidity.

What are you using for substrate?

I unfortunately don't have room for another water bowl, I've only got a little 10 gal atm but I wanna upgrade him at some point soon so once I have room I'll definitely add another. I'm using eco earth

I had similar problems and now about once a week I scoop out a small bucket of substrate and re-moisten it with warm water. I then mix it back into the tank and with an additional misting even day it keeps the humidity up in the acceptable range. I am using Reptile Prime.

Also a good idea. Make sure you're mixing it well and "turning" the substrate so you're not leaving wet spots. Damp is good, wet can cause scale rot over time.

And especially make sure the substrate in the hides isn't wet.

What's your hot spot temp? Cool side ambient temp? Hot side ambient temp? I have a feeling you're heating the entire terrarium too much since it's so small.

Hot side is 90-91, cool side is 79-80, ambient is 86-87
