Reptile Shed Aid

Recently, Ciri has been having some shed issues. Ive had her humidity around 75% when she tries to shed, and yet, it seems like she cant get more than her head off most of the time before the shed seems to stick. Does anyone know if this can help her? I've never used that...just water (soak or humid hides, etc). I wonder what's in the stuff? Maybe a surfactant? Probably a waste of money, IMO.

How are you measuring the humidity in your enclosure? 75% should work fine - but a lot of gauges are inaccurate. :(

Generally if they have had a bad shed previously I boost humidity once they clear up to make sure the next one is ok. Humid hides can help a lot but mainly I mist with water.

Was using a guage, though im pretty sure it isnt the most accurate thing in the world.

Just a little confused because Paarthurnax has been shedding just fine without worry, while Ciri is having problems even when she has a moist washcloth in her tub, though that has seemed to help a bit.

Ill have to soak her tomorrow and do my best to try and prepare for the next one, ill try more misting instead of just the washcloth, maybe make a humid hide while im at it.

It's a waste of money, if you provide PROPER husbandry your snake will shed.

Now if you do not provide proper humidity or if your reading is inaccurate than your snake will have issues.

Deb was quicker on the draw than I was, but I'd basically echo what she said.

I would ditch the hygrometer and get an Accurite or something similar. Only around 10 bucks and far more reliable. Those gauges be be off by as much as 15%. So if you're reading 55% it could actually be as low as 40% (just to throw out round numbers).
