    Scary Morning!
After working the night shift last night, I came home to start my regular 8am routine. The very first thing I do is check my snakes.

I go to the female first because she’s been picky about eating lately. She seems fine, just hanging out in her hide.

I go to my male to check on him....I don’t see him in his log hide. He’s always under his log hide. I slide his tank out and check under it....nothing. I check his smaller hides....nothing.

At this point panic sets in. I yell for my wife to come help. I triple check every inch of his tank. He isn’t there.

We started carefully tearing the bedroom apart and I’m thinking the worst has happened. He got out and our chihuahua has killed him[emoji15]

About an hour later we find him safely coiled under our couch in the living room. I’m not sure if one of the kids didn’t close his lid (The snakes are off limits to them without supervision) or he was somehow able to open it. Either way, he is safe and warming up under his RHP.

Anxiety levels back to semi normal. End of rant! Time to clean enclosures after he warms up for a while. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5df773cbdb.jpg

That is such a Horrible feeling, really glad he's ok.
done that many a time, the other night I always check on the snakes before bed and I just saw little Harley,s tail disappearing behind his Viv, I changed his water that night and I can't of shut his Viv properly, close call, luckily he can't fit under the door in there

Had the same experience with a juvy cornsnake, he slid through the 2 Plexiglas plates. After cleaning out his tank and searching every inch of the room I found him coiled up between the 2 tanks

Snakes reign supreme when it comes to 'hide & seek'....glad you got lucky (he did too, actually). :) Now to figure out how he got out...?

That’s still a mystery to me.

LOL they must love coaches.. My Spell has gotten out of her tank like 2xs before I switched to the rack. I literally flipped my whole apartment. Besides humidity reasons, this was a major factor, after her 1st escape, but I placed a hide where she was just in case she got out again (forgot to clamp all 4 corners after cleaning / feeding... Next time she got out guess where she was... right in her 2nd hide lol... but never again.... but Just happy to hear you found your guy

Yay for happy ending! My normal girl escaped once... Possibly it was my mistake, because she hasn't done it since so I suspect I left an inch open in her viv (oops!).

Eventually we found her - we had to remove the skirting boards in the kitchen and she was underneath/behind the washing machine! It was obviously warm down there.

She must have had a nice adventure (lol) but gosh it was scary!
