    Quick question
I was just wondering, DD has one or two scales that are all white in the darker portions of his pattern. Are these scars or something? No big deal?

they are probably just a part of his unique pattern. scars usually leave the scales looking a bit disfigured and from what i've seen once the wound is healed the color of the scar is somewhat close in color to that of the original unscarred scale.

The two girls we have that carry scars are like Emily says....the scarred areas are pretty much the same color but darker in tone than they would have been if not damaged. The only one that is different is Saoirse whose side scar is quite white.
