    BRB Arboreal Nature?
    Hi everyone!

Little disclaimer I don't own a Brazillian Rainbow Boa. I'm just trying to gather a few more answers to questions I have for the future one I will be purchasing.

I know that they are not recommended for beginners but I have dealt with high humidity and temperature for my other animals (frogs mostly) so we're all good in that department :)

So my question is about how aboreal these snakes are? I've been told over and over again that they enjoy climbing and need a 4' 2' 2' cage (I'll be purchasing the AP one) but how should I be setting up for the aboreal nature?

I figured adding some PVC pipes like many do with GTP would work well, or is that not necessary? Plus a fake wood climbing "tree" would suit the climbing well?

I can't really find any setup pictures that show what is needed for the aboreal side of BRBs for whatever reason.

How do you deal with the climbing needs of a BRB?

Do they continue to climb their whole life or is it like a BP were they do when young but not so much when there older?

    Thanks for any help!

Babies climb more than adults, especially at night, but adults will climb as well given the chance.

You can make the setup as elaborate as you care to. I'd suggest avoiding real wood due to the high humidity in the enclosure as it molds quickly, and stick to fake plastic plants and PVC décor.

Thanks so much for the reply.

No real wood for sure. I have a frog who likes the humidity in the 80% and I found out real quick that wood does not like that to much. The frog was fine it was on his land side which he rarely goes on so no worries for him.

I figured pvc would work well so thanks! I appreciate the reponse :)
