Multiple sheds(in same month) normal?
So as some of you know already from my many posts I got an albino who I am currently working on getting used to handling(Will wait of course).
But My concern is he has gone into shed twice in the same month with a break of 2 weeks.
My current theory is that the horrid shed he started in the pet store I got him in, stopped and then When I got him into a better environment and he settled down and ate something. a few weeks later he "returned." To shed the unfinished part of his shed(I saw a particularly big piece of shed fall off which was stuck and then he shed the rest off in bits.
Now he has started to shed again, This time getting rid of the wrinkles from the looks of it going back into a nice decent smooth new like skin(Yay!).
This is an interesting thing for me to experience. But will it hurt the guy to shed too much within a short period? Or will he be fine as long as he eats/drinks and has enough humidity(His new shed while not perfect is far from bad no stuck skin or eyecaps it's peeling nicely except not whole which leads me to humidity.)
So the main points short a quick without the details
1. Will multiple sheds in a short time hurt a snake if they have all the nutrient and environment to sustain it?(I don't think so but I would like to double check)
2. Has anyone heard of this happening before?
3. My humidity is a slight pain to keep up, anyone has a suggested substrate to help keep humidity up? I think I read about coconut husk mixed with what I use now which is repti-bark. Would that be a good thing to try?
Re: Multiple sheds(in same month) normal?
Cant answer your shedding question but I have used reptile prime and my humidity was often too high in a tub... Might want to look into it..

If I'm reading this correctly, the first of these "two" sheds was actually just to finish what he started before?
But either way, there's absolutely nothing you can do about the frequency a snake's body decides to shed; I will say also that a snake that has had some sort of
injury (& sometimes even an illness) may go into sheds more frequently- it's just how their body responds & tries to repair itself. I don't say that to worry you, just to
explain that shedding is a normal process, one which goes best with good nutrition & hydration. Also, the younger a snake is, the faster they're growing, which means
they shed more often. This is a young snake you have, right? Relax...

I was not panicking too terribly. I just wanted to make sure, I have two young snakes both juvenile, I know shedding is normal but did not know whether it could mean an immune response.
As my mother would say,
Better safe, Than sorry.
I will be going back to watching Regi, rub his shed now lol.
It is rather weird how such noodles that lay around all day can get someone so attached.

... if its growing it will shed when needed.. my Burm shed 2 weeks ago.. today its skin is getting loose again..but that most likely wont be ready for another 1.5/2 weeks, so actually will be once a month. Both my Balls (strange choice of words) shed once a month when they were hatchlings to 6 months or so.
