    Which is more accurate?
Due to the colder weather, I've been trying to make sure my two month old bp's terrarium is warm enough for him. My room has dropped to nearly 68 degrees the past two days, been thinking about switching back to that 75 watt bulb since I'm gone a good portion of the day.
Thing is, that accurite device for humidity has a temp reader too. When I get my room warm enough, temp reader says its 88 degrees near the hot spot. But when I check using a temp gun, it reads 80 degrees. I wanted to check in and see which one would be more accurate. I don't want him being cold, and I noticed that he really has been trying to push up on the inner ledges of the terrarium's metal bars as a way to escape, even though those things don't open anything.

But what would you guys say reads the most accurate temps?

I've had a temp gun fail before and give me ridiculous temps, but it was the small, round zoo med temp guns. So it depends, they're not always right.

But for your temp gun, I think it's more unlikely to fail than the acurite.

I use the temp gun for surface temps and the Accurite for ambient temps, typically on the cool end, but I imagine our larger enclosures will have an Accurite on each side. I imagine both can be accurate but in different ways.
