    Uth
So I have a temp probe under my substrate above uth. The digital temp reads 102. 6 but on top of substrate it's like 87.7 area. I'm confused. I have my CHE set to go off after it reaches 92. Should I raise that? And BPs don't burrow so should I not worry she can get burned? How do i get it hotter for belly heat?

I should add the probe is inside the tank on top of the glass covered by the substrate.

Is your UTH also connected to a thermostat? With the probe attached to the UTH outside of the enclosure?

They DO and CAN burrow. I'm not sure who told you otherwise. This is why it is recommended to measure your hot spot surface temps UNDER the substrate. Your hot spot is too hot!

If your UTH is regulated by a thermostat dial it back so the temp under the substrate does not exceed 92F. If you don't have a thermostat for your UTH get one ASAP. Remember ALL heat sources must be regulated by a thermostat.

I read in a few different articles that they don't. I had no idea. Good thing I checked. So the surface is hot enough then?

By that I mean the substrate above the uth.

And I am measuring under the substrate. The surface with my temp gun is reading 88.7

The temp of the substrate isn’t as important as the temp of the glass UNDER the substrate. NO surface should be over 90-92°.
