    Maybe a better question
Is how long can a poor little snake go without food?

It’s been five days since I’ve noticed Louie is about to shed, so I’ve held his food, but he hadn’t already eaten for ten days. So now it’s 16 days without food.... he still hasn’t shed. I’m worried.

What is Louie again and how old and how much does he weigh?

UPDATE: okay, I looked at your other posts. He's a BRB.

Boas have slower metabolisms in general than many other snakes. If he's been eating, he will likely be fine if you let him shed and then offer.

Not an expert on BRB, but know a lot about other Boas, like BCI. A young BCI can eat every 7-10 days with no issues. If BRB's are the same, and you stretch it for shed every once in a while, I wouldn't worry about it. He's also 6 months old or so, not 2 months old. That makes a big difference.

Having said all that, I would offer on schedule to a Boa even if they look like they are going to shed. The worst thing is he refuses and you offer again after shed. Boas generally do not turn down a meal.

I agree with this, my BRB will definitely eat while in shed
